Getty Images has several house collections including rights-ready collections, one80, Image Bank Film and Archive Films and royalty-free collections, Digital Vision and Photodisc. You may be offered the opportunity to submit your material to one of these collections if it meets their unique creative direction.

What type of footage are we looking for?
We seek dynamic and exceptional footage. Clips with strong conceptual appeal and an emotional connection have the greatest power to make multiple, global sales. All contemporary footage should be shot in a fresh and innovative fashion. In addition to contemporary material, we’re always interested in unique and powerful editorial and archival footage.

Submission Requirements
To successfully submit, you’ll need to carefully read and understand our Submission Requirements document, which you can download by clicking here.

Here are the main points:

We primarily accept content captured on high definition, or on film and transferred to high definition.

Content can be submitted digitally (hard drive or DVD) or on tape.

Model and Property releases are required with all images where relevant and must be supplied in digital format.

Metadata (also known as captioning) must also be supplied to us digitally..

Submit a Sample of Your Work
If you feel you have imagery that is suitable for our collection and are interested in it being licensed through Getty Images, we'll be pleased to review a sample of your work to see if your material is relevant for our collections and it meets the high technical and legal standards our customers demand. If it meets our requirements, we'll be able to offer you a contract to contribute to one of our collections; it's then up to you to decide if you'd like to enter into a licensing agreement with us.
